Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to join our team, specializing in the programming and development of high-precision aerospace components. In this role, you will develop and optimize CNC programs for lathe and mill-turn machines, supporting production from first article through full production runs.

You will be responsible for creating efficient machining strategies, posting and editing G-code, developing tooling and fixturing solutions, and collaborating with manufacturing engineers and machinists to ensure high-quality, repeatable machining processes.

To succeed in this role, you must be self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of solving complex machining challenges in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Program CNC lathes and mill-turn machines (2-axis, live tooling, multi-axis turning centers)

• Create and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam or similar CAM software

• Post and manually edit G-code to improve efficiency and machining performance

• Develop tooling strategies, fixtures, and setup methods for complex parts

• Create clear setup documentation and manufacturing instructions

• Support new part introduction from first article through full production

• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the shop floor

• Work closely with machinists, supervisors, and engineers to improve cycle times and production flow

• Apply strong understanding of GD&T and tight tolerance requirements

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of CNC machining experience

• 3+ years of CNC programming experience (lathe or mill-turn preferred)

• Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up

• Experience programming high-precision multi-axis turning centers

• Ability to optimize programs and manually edit G-code

• Experience machining difficult materials such as Inconel, stainless steel, or titanium

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

• U.S. Person status as defined by ITAR regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace or turbine engine component manufacturing

• Experience with Mastercam or similar CAM software

• Experience with HAAS, Okuma, Mori Seiki, or similar CNC equipment

• Engineering or manufacturing-related degree or equivalent experience
