**Job Overview: **Rusco Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Operator / Inspector to join our team. This dual-role position combines precision machine operation with hands-on quality inspection. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating CNC lathes (2–4 axis) and will be confident performing both in-process and final product inspections using a variety of measuring tools and systems. This role is vital in ensuring production efficiency and product quality for our customers.

**Key Responsibilities - **

CNC Machine Operation

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes including Mazak, Haas, and Okuma equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, and work instructions
  • Adjust tool offsets and machine parameters as needed to maintain tolerances
  • Complete first piece, in-process, and last piece inspections during runs
  • Maintain accurate production and maintenance records

Inspection & Quality Control

  • Perform inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM (Zeiss) and Keyence vision systems
  • Conduct quality checks in line settings for high-volume runs
  • Document inspection results and communicate non-conformances
  • Collaborate with machine operators to resolve issues and improve output
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts

General Duties

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in line with Rusco’s safety and 5S standards
  • Follow Lean Manufacturing principles for efficient workflow
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Take initiative to support other shop floor and quality tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2–3 years of CNC machine operation and inspection experience preferred
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use GD&T
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection software
  • Familiarity with Keyence and Zeiss CMM systems highly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
