Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathe machines using Fanuc controls to produce complex metal parts with precision and efficiency
- Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and calibrating equipment according to engineering specifications
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements
- Program CNC G-code and M-code using CAM software and manual input to optimize machining processes
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control
- Perform machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment to promote a safe manufacturing setting
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines with knowledge of Fanuc or similar control systems
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and mechanical blueprint interpretation
- Proficiency in CNC programming including G-code, M-code, and CAM software such as SolidWorks or CAD for toolpath generation
- Familiarity with machining tools, manual machining techniques, grinders, and measurement instruments like micrometers and bore gauges
- Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining, tooling setup, and machine calibration
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately and apply measurements for quality inspection
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine offsets
- Experience with CNC quality inspection processes and measurement in manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, plastics injection molding processes, welding, and assembly is a plus
