The CNC Operator / Programmer is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts that meet quality and dimensional specifications. This role requires close monitoring of machining operations, strong blueprint-reading skills, and a high level of attention to detail to ensure efficient and accurate production.
Set up, program, and operate CNC machines according to production requirements.
Create, modify, or edit CNC programs using CAM software or by directly inputting code into the machine (for programmer roles).
Monitor machine operations closely, making adjustments to speeds, feeds, and tooling as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate part production.
Inspect parts throughout the machining process to verify dimensional tolerances and quality standards are met.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning machines, lubricating components, and changing cutting tools.
Troubleshoot machining issues and make corrective adjustments as necessary.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and safety guidelines.
Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and operations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
High attention to detail with a focus on precision and quality.
Experience with CNC programming (G-code) and/or CAM software preferred.
Knowledge of measuring tools and inspection techniques.
Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Manufacturing or machine shop environment.
May require standing for extended periods and handling tooling and materials.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
