Position Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe / Mill-Turn Programmer & Operator with strong Mastercam programming experience to support aerospace manufacturing operations in Mesa, Arizona.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, proving out, and operating an advanced Eurotech 11-Axis Mill-Turn Center, taking complete ownership of the machining process from CAM programming through finished production. This individual will work closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to optimize machining processes, improve productivity, and consistently manufacture precision aerospace components within tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming
Program complex aerospace components using Mastercam Mill-Turn/Lathe modules.
Develop programs for:
Turning
Milling
Live Tool Operations
Sub-Spindle Operations
Multi-Axis Machining
Optimize machining programs to improve:
Cycle times
Tool life
Surface finish
Overall manufacturing efficiency.
Modify and improve existing CNC programs as production requirements evolve.
Machine Setup & Operation
Set up and operate Our Client's Eurotech 11-Axis Mill-Turn Center.
Load cutting tools and establish proper tool offsets.
Install fixtures, workholding devices, and chucking systems.
Establish machine datums and work coordinate systems.
Verify setup accuracy prior to production.
Safely prove out newly developed CNC programs before production release.
Precision Aerospace Manufacturing
Manufacture precision aerospace components to customer specifications.
Maintain tight manufacturing tolerances of ±0.001" or better.
Monitor machining operations to ensure consistent product quality.
Ensure finished parts meet aerospace quality standards.
Process Optimization & Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot machining issues including:
Tool wear
Offset adjustments
Thermal drift
Workholding concerns
Machine performance
Revise CNC programs as needed to improve production efficiency.
Optimize cutting strategies and machining processes.
Engineering Collaboration
Work closely with Our Client's engineering, quoting, quality, and manufacturing teams.
Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) recommendations.
Support process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in developing efficient manufacturing methods for new components.
Production Documentation
Prepare and maintain:
Setup sheets
Process documentation
Tooling information
Program revisions
Manufacturing notes
Maintain accurate machining records throughout production.
Required Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 3+ years of Mastercam CNC Lathe / Mill-Turn programming experience (Required).
Minimum 5+ years of CNC machining experience.
Experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mill-turn equipment.
Experience proving out new CNC programs.
Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
