A stable and growing precision manufacturing company in the northwest suburbs of Chicago is seeking an experienced 1st Shift CNC Lathe Machinist. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist with strong setup skills and the ability to work directly with G & M code programming.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC-controlled lathes from start to finish
Load, edit, and troubleshoot G & M code programs
Perform tool changes, offsets, and prove-out of new or repeat jobs
Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements
Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
Maintain quality standards while meeting production deadlines
Communicate with engineering and supervision to resolve machining issues

Requirements:

5+ years of CNC lathe machining experience
Strong knowledge of lathe setups and G & M code programming
Ability to read complex blueprints and hold tight tolerances
Experience machining steel, stainless, and aluminum
Self-directed, reliable, and quality-focused

Schedule & Compensation:

1st Shift (daytime hours)
