Job Description

A stable and growing precision manufacturing company in the northwest suburbs of Chicago is seeking an experienced 1st Shift CNC Lathe Machinist. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist with strong setup skills and the ability to work directly with G & M code programming.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC-controlled lathes from start to finish

• Load, edit, and troubleshoot G & M code programs

• Perform tool changes, offsets, and prove-out of new or repeat jobs

• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements

• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)

• Maintain quality standards while meeting production deadlines

• Communicate with engineering and supervision to resolve machining issues

Requirements:

• 5+ years of CNC lathe machining experience

• Strong knowledge of lathe setups and G & M code programming

• Ability to read complex blueprints and hold tight tolerances

• Experience machining steel, stainless, and aluminum

• Self-directed, reliable, and quality-focused

Schedule & Compensation:

• 1st Shift (daytime hours)
