A well-established manufacturing company in Elgin, IL is looking to add an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to its 1st-shift team. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for a machinist who is comfortable setting up and operating CNC turning equipment while producing precision components to print.
Set up and operate CNC lathes/turning centers for production.
Perform machine setups, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and program adjustments.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Make necessary offset and tooling adjustments to maintain part quality and tolerances.
Monitor machining processes and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
Previous CNC lathe or CNC turning experience in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on CNC machine setup experience strongly preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances.
Experience using precision inspection and measuring equipment.
Comfortable making offsets, tool changes, and basic program adjustments.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Able to work independently while maintaining production and quality standards.
1st Shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday–Friday
$28–$32/hour
