We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist who can independently perform complete machine setups from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have strong CNC lathe setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and inspection experience and be comfortable working from engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
Independently complete CNC lathe setups from start to finish.
Prepare and machine chuck jaws and determine proper workholding methods and chuck pressure.
Select, install, and set up cutting tools, boring bars, inserts, and tool holders.
Set tool offsets and work offsets and make adjustments throughout the machining process as needed.
Load, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs at the machine.
Determine appropriate feeds, speeds, and cutting conditions based on materials, tooling, and part requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T.
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications and tolerances.
Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, indicators, bore gages, calipers, and other inspection tools.
Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, programs, workholding, part quality, and machine performance.
Make necessary adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality.
Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams to identify and resolve manufacturing issues.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Previous experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist or CNC Lathe Setup Machinist.
Strong experience performing independent CNC lathe setups.
Ability to machine and prepare chuck jaws and establish proper workholding.
Experience selecting tooling and determining feeds and speeds.
Ability to edit and troubleshoot CNC programs at the machine.
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
