CNC Machinist – Lathe (Fanuc / Haas / Mazak)
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Pay: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift | Flexible start time between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM
Overtime: Available based on workload
Climate-controlled facility: Work in a fully air-conditioned precision machine shop
About the Opportunity
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or CNC vertical milling machines.
- Program, edit, and run CNC jobs at the machine as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine setups to meet required tolerances.
- Machine components to precise customer specifications.
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks.
- Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment.
- Interpret and edit G-code and M-code programs as needed.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and perform basic machine maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work on a variety of prototype and production jobs in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or vertical milling machines.
- Ability to program or edit CNC programs as required.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
- Experience using precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
- Ability to maintain tight tolerances and meet quality specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a precision manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak CNC controls.
- Experience with 3-axis and/or 4-axis CNC machining.
- Familiarity with G-code and M-code programming.
- Experience with GibbsCAM or Fusion 360 CAM software.
- Experience machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, plastics, or specialty materials.
Work Environment
This position is based onsite in Cincinnati, Ohio, in a fully air-conditioned precision machine shop. The role involves hands-on machine setup and operation, inspecting machined components, working with precision measuring instruments, and maintaining a safe and organized work area.
