Job Overview:
The CNC HBM Machinist will perform a variety of finish machining practices involved with drilling, threading (tap & thread mill), boring, etc, while maintaining close tolerances on a wide variety of components from various industries. The ideal candidate needs to be fluent with Fanuc Controls (Tosnuc) including A+ experience with cogsdill contouring heads and the use of right-angle heads. The candidate must be able to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, read and understand programs, all to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements. Must have basic hand & measuring tools, indicators, etc.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform finish machining operations including drilling, threading (tap & thread mill), and boring while maintaining close tolerances.
- Operate CNC Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM) with proficiency, specifically using Fanuc Controls (Tosnuc).
- Utilize Cogsdill contouring heads and right-angle heads effectively during machining processes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions accurately.
- Understand and verify CNC programs to ensure compliance with specifications and machining requirements.
- Conduct in-process inspection using basic hand and measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
- Ensure all machined components meet quality and specification standards across various industry applications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to company safety policies.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of jobs.
- Troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper machine operation and finished part quality.

- High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution.
Knowledge and/or Skill Requirements:
- OMEGA experience
- Proficient in running horizontal lathes, milling machines, VTL, and Bullard.
- Capable of reading drawings and proper use of calibrated measuring tools.
- Can hold tolerances of .0005".
- Basic machining knowledge and practices required.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand and walk for significant portions of the shift.
- Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs., walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance.
- Must be able to use hands for assembly and tool.
- Valid driver's license
Previous Experience:
- Minimum of five to ten years of experience as a Machinist is required
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- The position may be based in RMS’s BMW - Tomball, TX facility.
- This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Additional hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required based on project needs.
- This position can be required to participate in the company random or customer specific drug and alcohol screening and background check.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol test, and background check.
- Ability to act professionally under stressful situations.
- Able to understand, read, write and speak English.
- Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. (with assistance), walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance.
- Must be able to use hands for assembling and tool usage
- While performing the duties of this position the employee will be required to stand, sit, bend, and walk for significant portions of the shift
- Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals, including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.
- Authorized to work in the United States
- RMS Inc. may have government contracts that impose specific requirements on employees working on those projects. If an employee does not meet these requirements, they may be reassigned to a different location or be ineligible to work on certain assignments.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee may enter a shop environment and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts. While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and "not loud", there will be machine operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.
