NOV Bammel Repair is currently recruiting for a CNC HBM Operator to join our team at 5100 N Sam Houston Pkwy W. The main responsibilities of this role include:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review router and product drawing to select setup, create or edit programs, and machine repaired areas on blowout preventers, top drive equipment and various other oil field equipment NOV supports.
  • Calculate and set speeds and feeds according to various materials such as 4130 steel and Inconel 625.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls and make major program edits as required.
  • Machine parts and components within the specified tolerances, with limited to no scrap and on time with the production schedule.
  • Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and quality standards.
  • Confer with engineers, production personnel, or other NOV employees to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Utilize safe working habits.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work safely in accordance with HSE and facility requirements.
  • Encourage and support 6S methodology.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must Have minimum of 5 years setting up and operating a CNC HBM.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of CNC Lathe operation, programming, edits, and tool selection. 
  • Must have repair machining or Job shop experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time & be able to work in a non-climate-controlled facility.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
  • Must contribute, share ideas for improvement and work well within a team.
  • Foster a positive safety culture and possess and contribute to safety awareness.
  • Must have Initiative to complete basic housekeeping.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Factory environment with a large range in temperature changes.
  • Standing, Walking, Bending/Stooping, Push/Pull, and Repetitive Movement up to 12 hours daily.
  • Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. Regularly.
