Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Pay Range: $25 – $37/hour (based on experience)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to join our team in Manchester, CT. This position is ideal for a machinist with strong experience operating and setting up 3-axis or higher CNC milling machines with Okuma controls.

We are looking for someone with a CNC production and setup background who can independently set up and run a 3-axis Hardinge CNC milling machine while maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards.

Our company designs and builds custom packaging machinery, and this role involves machining precision components used in specialized equipment manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 3-axis Hardinge CNC milling machines with Okuma controls

  • Perform complete machine setups including tooling, offsets, and work holding

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications

  • Machine parts to tight tolerances and quality standards

  • Perform tool changes, touch-offs, and minor program edits as needed

  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and gauges

  • Troubleshoot machining and production issues when necessary

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and goals

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CNC milling experience required

  • Experience setting up and operating 3-axis or higher CNC milling machines

  • Experience with Okuma controls strongly preferred

  • Experience running Hardinge CNC mills is a plus

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and setups

  • Experience holding tight tolerances in a production environment

  • Proficient with precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and indicators

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
