Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Grinder Machinist to join our team in Ontario, CA. This role is responsible for the precision grinding, sharpening, and manufacturing of carbide saws and small carbide tools. The ideal candidate values accuracy, follows detailed instructions, and communicates effectively while maintaining high quality standards. Experience with traditional blacksmith or welding techniques is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, program, and operate CNC grinding machines, including Walter CNC grinders
Perform machine setups and changeovers for production runs
Grind, sharpen, and inspect carbide cutting tools to exact specifications
Troubleshoot mechanical and tooling issues to minimize downtime
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
Utilize CAD/CAM software to support machine programming and adjustments
Apply welding and blacksmith skills as needed for tool modification or repair
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Collaborate with production and management teams to meet quality and productivity goals
Qualifications
Proven experience with CNC grinding and G/M code programming
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Experience with CNC grinders such as Walter, Anca, Vollmer, Mitsubishi, or similar
Proficient in blueprint reading and precision measurement
Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, Siemens NX, Mastercam preferred)
Welding and blacksmith experience is a strong plus
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
