CNC / Manual Bridgeport Mill Machinist

Location: Manchester, CT

Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay: $28 – $39/hour (based on experience)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC / Manual Bridgeport Mill Machinist to join our team in Manchester, CT. This is a hands-on role working with both manual and CNC milling machines, specifically operating a Hardinge Bridgeport CNC mill.

Our company designs and builds packaging machinery, so this role involves precision machining of components used in custom equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong machining background, can work from prints, and is comfortable producing high-quality parts with tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and set up Hardinge Bridgeport CNC milling machines with Okuma controls
• Perform machining on manual Bridgeport mills as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Machine parts to required tolerances and quality standards
• Perform setups, tool changes, and basic program edits
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals

Qualifications

• Experience operating both manual and CNC milling machines
• Familiarity with Bridgeport-style mills (Hardinge preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience working with tight tolerances
• Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling
• Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
