Job Title: CNC Brake Press Operator

Location: Erie, PA, 16505

Overview

ISM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Brake Press Operator to bend, shape and form high-quality metal components for our customers. As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, fabricating metal components and performing quality checks on finished products. You will also be required to set up, operate and maintain fabricating machines, while adhering to safety standards.

To ensure success as a Brake Press Operator, you should have advanced knowledge of industrial metal work, a good eye for detail and excellent mathematical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reading and understanding blueprints and work instructions and ensuring that all requirements and specifications are met.
  • Verifying dimensions and product specifications using various quality tools.
  • Operating various fabrication equipment and machinery to complete parts, and ensuring all parts are properly fitted, aligned and screwed in.
  • Testing and inspecting parts to ensure functionality and quality, and troubleshooting products where appropriate to avoid problems or recalls.
  • Maintaining production schedule, and reporting and detailing product work instructions.
  • Ensuring quality control standards are met and adhering to safety rules and regulations at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 2 years' experience as a fabricator, including proven ability in shearing, sawing, punching, rolling, forming and welding.
  • Ability to set up, operate and maintain fabricating equipment. Previous experience on a Trumpf is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints.
  • Ability to Fabricate and construct metal products including, grinding, finishing and inspecting completed products, and performing quality checks.
  • Good dexterity, willingness to undergo a physical examination, good vision and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand English in both written and verbal communications and instructions.
