Summary/Purpose

Interpret process prints, operation sheets/ travelers, and standard work instructions to operate CNC Tsugami and Citizen machines to produce precision parts to customer specifications. Closely monitor the production of CNC Tsugami and Citizen machines and replace tooling, adjust programs, and make machine adjustments to ensure tolerances are being maintained.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

• Actively participate and improve 5S system that addresses safety, housekeeping, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Interpret process prints, operation sheets, and standard work instructions to produce parts that meet customer specifications.
• Set-up and operate gauges to measure parts, ensuring parts are being produced to customer specifications.
• Use Fanuc/Citizen controllers to recall stored dimensions on products.
• Monitor machine production and troubleshoot machine and tooling to fix problems with non-conforming product.
• Make decisions about quality problems using reaction plans.
• Make necessary machine adjustments and replace tooling, to ensure tolerances are being held.
• Perform appropriate preventative maintenance on machines as required.
• Must be able to use and understand statistical process control (SPC).
• Operate 4 CNC Lathes Daily

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must possess very good mechanical/reasoning skills to problem solve.
• Must have good math skill in dealing with decimals and fractions.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively and efficiently.
• Must be multi-tasked to handle multiple diverse tasks accurately and completely.
• Must be a self-starter that can work with minimal supervision.
• Must have demonstrated good initiative in previous job or jobs.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours and/or will be subject to being called in at odd hours when needed.
• Must be willing to work OVERTIME on a consistent basis to due to customer demand

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous mechanical experience is required (Assessment will be given)
• Ability to read blueprints is required (Assessment will be given)
• Previous CNC experience is preferred.

• This position is performed in a manufacturing environment.
• This position has an exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution and controls, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, water, and chemicals.
• Will be regularly required to stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms. Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
