CMMS Maintenance Planner

Drive Maintenance Reliability in a Highly Automated Distribution Environment

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00/hour

Play a Critical Role in Keeping Operations Running

We're seeking a detail-oriented CMMS Maintenance Planner to support a high-volume, automated distribution facility. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in maintenance planning, CMMS administration, spare parts inventory management, purchasing, and preventive maintenance coordination.

In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring maintenance teams have the right plans, parts, and resources needed to maximize equipment uptime and operational performance. Your ability to maintain accurate CMMS data, coordinate maintenance activities, manage vendor relationships, and oversee MRO inventory will directly impact the success of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities within the CMMS.
• Partner with Maintenance Supervisors and Managers to prioritize critical maintenance work.
• Develop detailed work packages and parts kits to support efficient maintenance execution.
• Track work order completion and ensure maintenance activities are properly documented.
• Coordinate maintenance labor scheduling to maximize productivity and equipment uptime.

CMMS Administration

• Maintain accurate asset, inventory, PM, purchasing, and work order records.
• Ensure data integrity across the maintenance management system.
• Update and manage locations, job plans, equipment records, and spare parts information.
• Generate maintenance reports and provide operational insights to leadership.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through accurate reporting and system maintenance.

MRO Inventory & Spare Parts Management

• Manage maintenance storeroom inventory, including ordering, receiving, issuing, and cycle counting parts.
• Maintain proper stock levels for critical spares and operational supplies.
• Improve inventory organization and storage processes.
• Track warranty items and identify alternative sourcing opportunities.
• Ensure technicians have the necessary parts available to complete scheduled work.

Vendor & Purchasing Management

• Create and manage purchase orders for maintenance parts and contracted services.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for both planned and emergency repairs.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and support timely payment processing.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure availability of critical parts and services.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Scheduling, CMMS Administration, MRO Inventory Management, or Maintenance Coordination.
• Experience supporting maintenance operations within a distribution center, warehouse, manufacturing facility, or industrial environment.
• Hands-on experience managing preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
• Strong understanding of CMMS platforms and maintenance processes.
• Experience with spare parts inventory management, purchasing, and vendor coordination.
• Advanced organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to pass Word, Excel, and Math Aptitude testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Dematic Sprocket or similar CMMS platforms.
• Background supporting automated material handling equipment (MHE).
• Experience working with conveyors, sortation systems, and distribution center equipment.
• Knowledge of maintenance reliability programs and inventory control best practices.
• Previous experience supporting highly automated warehouse or distribution operations.
