We are seeking a CMM Programmer / Quality Technician who is eager to learn and grow in our AS9100 manufacturing environment. In this role, you will work side-by-side with experienced Quality professionals, machinists, and engineers to develop programs and inspection methods for universal joints and other precision components. You will have the opportunity to contribute to Belden’s rapid growth on day one and make a significant impact on our company. You will be a critical part of quality control for the aerospace, defense, and industrial machinery industries. The position is responsible for programming and operating a Zeiss CMM in Calypso, along with related quality and engineering projects and tasks.

This role is for the first shift (5 AM to 1:30 PM).

**What You Will Do

**

**CMM Programming & Inspection

**

  • Program & Optimize: Develop and fine-tune CMM inspection programs for universal joints and complex, machined aerospace components using Zeiss Calypso software.
  • Execute Inspections: Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections strictly adhering to AS9102/AS9100 standards.
  • Define Strategies: Translate design intent and customer requirements into robust inspection strategies and measurement methods.
  • Manual Measurement: Conduct dimensional and visual checks using traditional precision tools (micrometers, calipers, height/bore gauges, and indicators).

**Engineering Support & Continuous Improvement

**

  • Problem Solve: Partner with Engineering to investigate dimensional nonconformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

  • Tooling & Fixturing: Assist in designing and validating custom inspection fixtures to ensure repeatable, highly accurate measurements.

  • Process Development: Provide expert measurement input during the development and improvement of manufacturing processes.

  • Teamwork: Work side-by-side with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve producibility issues.

  • Standardization: Maintain strict compliance with our internal Quality Management System and AS9100 requirements.

  • Audit Support: Act as a key technical resource during internal audits and customer source inspections.

**What You Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

**

  • Equipment & Software: Hands-on experience operating Zeiss CMMs and writing programs using Zeiss Calypso software.
  • Technical Literacy: Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, with a demonstrated mastery of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: A solid understanding of machining processes and modern manufacturing methods.
  • Quality Expertise: Proven experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and a working knowledge of SPC, tolerance stack-ups, and measurement uncertainty.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Must be a "US Person" as defined by ITAR Regulations.
