Description
Basic Function:
Perform layout inspection per requirements of AS9102 using a FARO Arm & Polyworks.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to maneuver castings and operator FARO Arm.
Maximum Lift Weight 50 lb
Maximum Push/Pull Weight 50 lbs
% Of Time Sitting ~25%
% Of Time Standing ~75%
Exposed to Severe Weather Conditions: No
Responsibilities:
- Accurate scanning in and out of jobs and properly reporting processed quantities.
- Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times, follow 6S.
- Understand customer requirements, our company’s internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on your job and demonstrate the ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship.
- Perform job in an efficient manner according to given standards & utilizing procedures when available.
- Perform dimensional inspection per AS9102.
- Prepare blueprints and AS9102 forms for 100% dimensional inspections.
- Develop plans/requirements for sectioning.
- Assist inspection areas as necessary during overflow periods.
- Assist with new product development.
- Report any problems or discrepancies to immediate Management/Engineering/Quality.
- Other duties as needed/assigned.
Requirements
Skills/Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with:
- Running and programming a CMM or equivalent machine. (FARO arm strongly preferred)
- Working with inspection software. (Polyworks preferred)
- GD&T experience working with highly complex casting/machining blueprints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent Computer Skills; awareness of software modeling systems
- Ability to interact with customers when required.
- Strong organizational skills, team orientated, self-motivated.
