Job Overview:

A well-established and growing precision manufacturer is seeking a skilled CMM Programmer to join its Quality team. This company produces high-precision machined components for aerospace, defense, and medical applications — maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and quality. They offer modern equipment, a clean and organized facility, and long-term stability within a supportive team culture.

Position Overview

The CMM Programmer will be responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to verify the dimensional accuracy of precision-machined parts. The ideal candidate will have experience with tight-tolerance inspection and a solid understanding of GD&T and AS9100 requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and edit CMM programs using PC-DMIS (or similar software).

  • Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts.

  • Review engineering drawings and CAD models to determine inspection requirements.

  • Document results, prepare inspection reports, and support nonconformance investigations.

  • Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and measuring equipment.

  • Work closely with production and engineering to resolve quality issues and ensure process accuracy.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CMM programming and inspection experience in a precision machining or aerospace/defense setting.

  • Proficiency in PC-DMIS preferred (Zeiss Calypso or similar also considered).

  • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and dimensional inspection methods.

  • Experience with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience ($30–$40/hour range).

  • Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k).

  • Paid holidays and PTO.

  • Modern facility with advanced CMM and machining technology.

  • Long-term career growth in a stable, high-precision environment.
