General Summary:

The CMM Programmer will develop CMM programs using PC DMIS or other software. Conduct and document first article inspections and capability analysis to support our PPAP programs. Support in-process, start-up, and final inspections, as well as process capability studies, and gage R&R studies. Support quality improvement efforts, Internal Auditing and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Participate in project kick-off teams improving quality aspects of product introduction, and have a fundamental understanding of quality systems, SPC, and control plans. Perform and coordinate calibrations to ensure compliance and accuracy of equipment.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

  • Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machine and other inspection equipment and gages to perform dimensional inspections.
    • Perform complex first article inspections
    • Perform, review, and monitor initial capability studies
    • Perform, review, and monitor Gage R&R studies
    • Perform complex in-process inspection
    • Inspect new tooling, i.e. drills, mills, etc.
    • Maintain and review SPC charting
    • Initiate corrective action when necessary
    • Support troubleshooting process/inspection/engineering issues
  • Ensure proper documentation completed, including filing of test results, and preparing correspondence with customers regarding test results
    • Maintain and develop department computer systems and programs
    • Program process documentation using spreadsheets
  • Address customer quality issues as needed
  • Audit production processes as needed
  • Assist Engineering in identifying quality criteria
  • Coordinate calibration of fixtures and gauges both internal and external
  • Perform non-destructive testing
  • Adhere to company safety procedures
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Maintain gage storage areas
  • Audit internal procedures on a periodic basis
  • Participate in MRB process, as needed
