This position is responsible for developing, programming, and executing precision inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure components meet customer and engineering specifications. The ideal candidate has strong experience with
PC-DMIS programming, GD&T interpretation, and precision-machined components in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, program, and optimize CMM inspection programs using
PC-DMIS.
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and customer specifications.
- Apply and verify
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
requirements.
- Troubleshoot measurement issues and validate inspection methods.
- Analyze inspection data and generate detailed inspection reports.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality concerns.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to improve inspection processes and product quality.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure CMM equipment is operating properly.
- Assist with customer audits, PPAPs, First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), and other quality documentation as needed.
- Promote a safe, organized, and quality-focused work environment.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of CMM programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
- PC-DMIS is PREFERRED not required.
Poly works, zeiss, modis will work as well
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
- Experience inspecting precision-machined components to tight tolerances.
- Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, and indicators.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative manufacturing team.
Preferred
- Experience with Zeiss, Hexagon, Brown & Sharpe, Mitutoyo, or similar CMM equipment.
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or other quality management systems.
- Experience supporting PPAPs, FAIRs, or customer-specific quality requirements.
- CAD experience is a plus.
