Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing precise CMM inspection programs to ensure the highest quality standards for our products. Your expertise in programming and operating CMM equipment, along with your mechanical knowledge and manufacturing experience, will be vital in maintaining our commitment to excellence. Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and optimize CMM inspection programs using CAM programming software to accurately measure complex parts and assemblies.
  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines equipped with various probes and sensors to perform detailed dimensional inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure measurement accuracy.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, fixtures, or part tolerances.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspection results, calibration logs, and program updates for quality control documentation.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for supplementary measurements when needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing measurement data to identify trends or deviations that could impact product quality.

Experience

  • Proven experience programming and operating CMM equipment in a manufacturing or factory setting.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software tools.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and automation systems used in manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of various machining processes including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, stamping presses, and fabrication techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with blueprint reading, mechanical assembly, welding, tooling setup, and materials handling.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools accurately.
  • Basic math skills for interpreting measurements and calculating tolerances effectively.
