Who We’re Looking For:

We seek a highly skilled Cloud Systems Engineer Lead with extensive experience in AWS services, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), cloud security, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud encryption best practices, mainly using AWS Key Management Service (KMS), and will be proficient in managing Kubernetes clusters using Amazon EKS. This role involves building and maintaining AWS infrastructure, providing technical guidance, and mentoring a team of engineers.

What You’ll Be Doing:

AWS Service and IAC Expertise:

  • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage solutions, databases, and networking components.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation tools.

Cloud Security (High Level):

  • Ensure cloud infrastructure security by implementing best practices for encryption and data protection.
  • Utilize AWS Key Management Service (KMS) to manage encryption keys and secure sensitive data.

DevOps and CICD:

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment and management of applications.
  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters using Amazon EKS.

Technical Guidance and Mentorship:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to application teams, helping them to design and implement cloud-based solutions.
  • Attend meetings to gather requirements, understand project needs, and develop appropriate design and implementation strategies.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers on the team, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, particularly with AWS KMS.
  • Proficiency in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline development.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and mentor junior engineers.

Preferred Skills:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar certification.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with additional DevOps tools and practices.
