Job Description:

Successful candidates will have a passion for and demonstrated experience with automation, enterprise transformation, continuous improvement, and driving innovation.

They will play a strategic role in developing a vision while addressing technical, business, and customer needs, defining ambitious yet achievable objectives and driving execution to reach them. As an expert in delivering technical projects, the Principal Architect will identify challenges and improvements and guide cross-functional teams to deliver solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide thought and design leadership to an agency of the Federal Government
Serve as a technical SME for cloud services, providers, and platforms
Lead solution architecture efforts and evaluate tradeoffs between design, risk, and cost
Analyze complex problems and develop and implement solutions through innovation and technical expertise
Using data to enable deeper insights into the organization, client needs, and solution performance to optimize service levels, costs, and speed of implementation
Lead organizational development efforts to support the full solution delivery lifecycle and operations
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position will have supervisory capacity

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering or closely related field, or equivalent experience
Senior level architect with 10+ years of planning, architecting, and engineering enterprise class systems and services
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure offerings
Must have proven success in consulting to C-level clients
Proven ability to lead change across large platforms using innovative solutions
Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership with strong relationship management
Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and Software Development Lifecycle
Demonstrated customer focus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: (example: specific software, soft skills, etc. – This gets deleted)

Practical knowledge of source code management
Demonstrated ability to apply advanced organizational and technical knowledge
Proven ability to lead change across large platforms / functional areas using innovative technology solutions
Strong applied analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to evaluate information and make high quality decisions
Clear and effective communications with a wide range of audiences
Anticipating risks and developing and executing mitigation plans
Creating actionable strategies and operational plans
Engaging all members of the team in creating and implementing the best solution
Dealing with challenging problems in a positive and creative way
Effectively balancing multiple competing priorities
Must be eligible for a Public Trust clearance with BI
Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen

Work Environment:

This position is primarily performed in a secured federal office setting and remotely as it is a hybrid work model
