The following position is to join our RTX Process and Systems Transformation (PST) Team:

RTX has an opening for a Cloud Automation Architect - DevOps (Sr. Manager, Business Systems and Transformation) position.

RTX Enterprise Infrastructure Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Cloud Automation Architect/Engineer who will focus on the automation tooling and IaC solution for the Global ERP program. cloud service solutioning and automation within the Microsoft Azure platform.

As part of the Global ERP effort, they will work within an agile product team to design, automate using Infrastructure as Code(IaC) and document high-quality, innovative and fully performing cloud-based hosting solutions that complies with enterprise IT policy and Global Trade regulations.

What You Will Do:

  • Use solution-independent automation patterns to design, develop, and document automated deployment solutions via Infrastructure as Code using compliant cloud application stacks
  • Provide automated provisioning and management for applications teams – supporting both traditional IaaS workload and modern serverless applications for the SAP and related applications
  • Work within an Agile product team, taking objectives from the product owner, breaking them down into detailed increments, and delivering committed capability on-time
  • Create/maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation efforts using best practices and enterprise standards to deploy and maintain the SAP and related environments
  • Converting existing Jenkins pipelines to GitHub Actions
  • Enhancing existing pipelines to support critical environments supporting high availability and disaster recovery objectives
  • Ensure service compliance with RTX IT Security policies, NIST 800-53, CMMC control requirements
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, communicating and documenting procedures, and recommending architectural changes when necessary
  • Travel up to 20%

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience developing technical solutions for large complex IT systems, demonstrating a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering and Systems (STEM) or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 7+ year’s related work experience
  • Technical understanding of MS Azure Cloud and infrastructure services, and a general understanding of cloud and on-premise networking, servers and storage
  • Hands-on experience specifically with Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions with an “Automation First” attitude
  • Experience with production enterprise workloads and concepts such as:
    • Microsoft Azure leveraging Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings in both Commercial & GovCloud implementations
    • Deployment of effective HA/DR cloud deployment strategies
    • Agile/SAFe software development methodologies and tools
    • Various database technologies (SQLServer, Oracle) and data interchange formats (XML, JSON)
    • Identity and access management solutions, single sign-on federation such as Ping, LDAP, Microsoft Server Active Directory and Microsoft Azure Active Directory
    • Cloud Migration and Hybrid/Multi Cloud automation technologies

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
