Job Summary: 

onsemi is seeking a self-driven and motivated Cloud Architect to guide the organization on our cloud migratino. As Cloud Architect, you will have the opportunity to shape onsemi’s overall cloud strategy by recommending and leveraging dynamic cloud solutions to deliver, manage, and maintain a highly available and secure computing and IT services platform for an energy efficient semiconductor company. This role requires expert knowledge in public/private/hybrid cloud environments and will be responsible for setting short-term tactical objectives as well as long-term strategic goals. The ideal candidate will know how to think “outside-the-box” and will take advantage of advancements in automation to support the provisioning, configuration and management of IT infrastructure running in a hybrid cloud environment. Adhering to industry best practices and compliance in support of onsemi’s business objectives and user community experience is of utmost importance. 

Performance Objectives: 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to: 

  • Develop onsemi’s hybrid cloud strategy and coordinate the company’s cloud adaptation process.

  • Define and mature onsemi’s Cloud Governance processes and procedures to control costs, improve efficiency, and eliminate security risks. 

  • Provide guidance for the adoption, use, and management of hybrid cloud technologies and services. 

  • Focus efforts towards leveraging automated provisioning, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of hybrid cloud environments where practical and beneficial. 

  • Establish best practices and procedures to ensure a standard and secure framework is identified and used to aid onsemi’s migration to the cloud.

  • Assist with the cloud provider selection process, vetting third-party services, and managing those relationships. 

  • Work closely with IT security to monitor privacy and develop incident-response procedures. 

  • Serve as a change agent responsible for leading the cultural change for cloud adoption within the organization. 

  • Monitor and perform ongoing performance tuning, resource optimizations, and make improvement recommendations. 

  • Find ways to report metrics and analytics on the health of cloud environments and services. 

  • Provide after hours on-call support as needed. 

  • Coordinate meetings and communicate with non-technical staff on projects.  

  • Lead focused activities to migrate critical onsemi environments that leverage the higher availability and efficiency of the hybrid cloud infrastrucutre.  


  • 7 - 12 years’ experience designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining a software-defined datacenter in a hybrid cloud environment. 

  • Advanced public cloud experience (e.g., AWS, Azure) with setup and configuration of IS or PaaS application environments using tools for brokering and automation. 

  • Proven experience in creating successful designs, development and implementation of highly available systems, applications, and related products.  

  • Proficient with holistic cloud and virtualization technologies spanning compute and networking. 

  • Proficient with Compute and Virtualization technologies: x86, hypervisor (KVM, Docker, Kubernetes), OS (Linux/Windows), VMware, workload mobility, containers.  

  • Technical leadership experience with information systems design, implementation, and operations in major projects. 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) from a regionally accredited institution. BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Sciences, Information Technology, or Software Engineering strongly preferred. 

  • Certification: At least one of the following certifications:  AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Arcitura Certified Cloud Architect.

  • Communication: Fluent English (written and verbal).
