Description

Position Objective:

Coordinates and monitors the manufacturing, packaging and labeling processes used in the Clean Room to ensure employee safety as well as on-time delivery commitments can be met. Performs manufacturing build steps in multiple areas of production per documented procedures. Address machine, process or employee issues by analyzing possible causes and determine most appropriate corrective action. Provide leadership and training to other production operators and provide R&D assistance as needed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote and lead by example in strictly adhering to Safety Absolutes and plant safety policies.
  • Performs multiple assembly tasks within production manufacturing operations and include tasks such as non-routine and non-repetitive production mechanical, assembly, quality assurance, inventory tracking preparation of shipments.
  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Review and complete production traceability forms.
  • Performs at a high level of quality and productivity.
  • Practices proper clean room environment standards.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of all production processes in their team and regularly audits compliance with all procedures.
  • Ensures every operator is maintaining the safety requirements.
  • Must pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments.
  • Identifies continuous improvement ideas to improve product quality, yields and productivity.
  • Assist in developing written manufacturing processes with safety and quality in mind.
  • Properly train other personnel in manufacturing processes, following writing procedures.
  • When necessary, completes inventory tracking.
  • Ensure material is in place for production events.
  • When necessary, provide feedback to and assist other operators to ensure a high level of team productivity, quality and yields in their work area.
  • Gives work direction to the teams within the Cleanroom.
  • Analyze the production resources to select the best way to meet production plan. Determine whether overtime or other resources may be necessary.
  • When issues arise, take the appropriate action using sound judgment to decide when and how to resolve them.
  • Notify production manager of any people, material, process and scheduling issues that need higher level resolution.
  • Provide timely status reports on schedule adherence/yields/material issues/equipment issues/unplanned downtime.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with employees, peers and managers within SPG.
  •  
  • Interface with other departments as necessary to ensure a high level of professionalism through effective communication.
  • Assigns housekeeping duties and production assignments.
  • Enter shift labor reporting.
  • Prints customer labels as needed.
  • Ensures line clearance activities are taking place.
  • Support cleanroom operators and work with supervisors to reduce scrap related to setup of line and/or equipment, manufacturing of specific components, inspection of said components through training of all operators, and temporary personnel
  • Train and develop existing employees that may require further development of learned processes.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and commitment to excellence in all aspects of work and interactions with others.

Qualifications


Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience  

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • English communication skills, both written and verbal.  Bilingual preferred.
  • Skilled at interpersonal awareness.
  • Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the Manufacturing Department equipment, processes, procedures and materials required
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Self-directed and motivated.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations.
  • The ability to read / interpret and comprehend written and oral directions to include work instructions, procedures, drawings, and company policies.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic computer skills, spreadsheet data entry helpful.
  • Problem solving, develops alternative solutions to potential issues that could impact training effectiveness. Takes the initiative and works through job completion.
  • 2+ years experience in medical device manufacturing or equivalent experience.
  • Willing to work off shift hours as demand dictates. 
  • Experience in a clean room manufacturing setting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, reach overhead and use hands.
  • Must be able to handle small parts or packaging components, in some cases with the use of a tweezers and microscope.
  • Continually required to talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and heat.
