SUMMARY
Paints parts to meet customer and internal quality requirements by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. This position can execute the following job functions without supervision:
· Pre-clean and rinse parts before media blasting.
· Apply all primers and topcoats by airless spray to meet the established quality standards and requirements. -Perform media blasting to meet the established quality standards.
· Apply stripe coats of primer to appropriate locations to meet the established quality standards and requirements. -Properly mask, cover and protect all surfaces that will not be painted.
· Understand and execute the proper mixing and thinning of all primers and topcoats.
· Maintain and clean all spray equipment to keep it in order.
· Troubleshoot minor issues with spray equipment and correct as needed.
· Enforce and abide by all safety rules and requirements.
· Operate all necessary quality control instruments.
· Understand and recognize proper substrate preparation.
· Understand and record all required quality control data required at quality control hold points and halt work when non-compliant readings are obtained.
· Correct non-compliant work when it is observed and perform corrective measures to bring the work back into compliance. –
· Supervise Class B painters to ensure compliance with all established quality, process and safety standards.
· Perform touch-up on finish painted pieces.
· Cleans and organizes work area.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED; 3-5 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
