JOB SUMMARY & KEY OBJECTIVES:
The Class A Truck Driver will move materials and finished products between the local production facilities and warehouses. This primarily consists of short hauls between the Northwood and Pemberville facilities, but may include occasional trips to the Ottawa, OH, facility and Hirzel Farms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Transport finished goods and raw materials between manufacturing plants or warehouses.
- Comply with ODOT driving rules and regulations in alignment with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, exchange trailers at facilities as needed to move product efficiently
- Report defects, accidents, or violations
- Receive daily schedule from Supply Chain Planner
- Assist in mapping driving routes and suggest improvements to improve efficiency
- Record the mileage of vehicle being driven
- Perform daily vehicle inspection to include checking fuel, fluids, air brakes, etc. Record information on the supplied form

- Reaching with hands and arms
- Dolly trailers up and down as needed for trailer exchange
- Communication through speech and hearing, and in writing
- Daily requirements:
- Bending, twisting, turning, reaching below the knee, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting
- Lifting requirements:
- Will regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Will frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
MUST HAVE UPDATED CDL A AND DOT MEDICAL CARD
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to operate a manual transmission
- Proven experience driving trucks with 5 or more years of experience preferred.
- No more than two moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
- No serious traffic violations or preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
- No preventable DOT recordable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last ten years.
- No preventable accidents resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history (commercial motor vehicle)
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations
- Punctual and reliable
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing
