Class A Tool & Die Maker (San Antonio, TX)
Our client is hiring a Class A Tool & Die Maker in San Antonio, TX to build and keep progressive dies running for high-precision metal stamping. This is a full-time, onsite toolmaker role on a steady single day shift. The shift is from 7am - 3:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break, M-F.
The role
You will build, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot progressive dies for high-volume production. The parts are miniature to small. The metals are thin gauge, including copper alloys, brass, stainless steel, and cold-rolled steel from 0.005" to 0.050". The presses are high speed.
When a die misfeeds, throws burrs, or loses a punch, you find the cause and fix it with minimal supervision. You will also make replacement punches, dies, and inserts, hold tolerances as tight as ±0.0002" when needed, and log your repairs and modifications.
The team and impact
This is an engineering-driven, family-owned manufacturer, now in its third generation. The culture is relaxed but productive, and the tool room, press floor, and QA talk to each other every day.
The company is stable. It never cut hours or shut down during COVID, and it does not cut hours when work slows.
The San Antonio site is also growing. Leadership plans to move more work here, but only once the site has a larger, reliable core team. Your hire helps make that happen.
