KAMTEK is a premier Tier 1, automotive manufacturing supplier that specializes in Class “A” Stamping, Assembly and High Pressure Die Casting that produces Body-side and Door Openings, Roofs, Floor Pans, Wheelhouses, Large Welded Assemblies, Doors, Fenders, Hoods, Lift-gates, Aluminum Shock Towers, and Aluminum Rear Rails. Role Summary

Purpose of job is to ensure Class “A” surface quality is audited and documented for Customer and Kamtek. Give press approval or not allow proceeding with production. The Quality Class A Auditor is responsible for their safety and well-being, quality, part audits, system audits, customer cost, productivity, and ergonomic issues through using the company policies and procedures and the Magna Employee’s Charter as a guideline.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for reviewing first off parts using hi-light method, stoning and feeling Class “A” surfaces.
  2. Responsible for accurately recording findings of surface audits on panel and document.
  3. Responsible for keeping boundary panels free from damage and certified in secure area to use for comparison to next runs.
  4. Responsible for bringing boundary panels to the Press Lines prior to production runs and returning those to the proper storage are upon completion of run.
  5. Responsible for maintaining the surface review area ensuring that the lasted level audit panel and documentation is up to date on a daily basis.
  6. Responsible for making decisions on findings to determine if acceptable to Customer or not.
  7. Quality System Audits, QIF, QID, Proper documentation posted during production runs.
  8. Support Operations in making quality calls with product and determine if rework is required
  9. Responsible to report findings immediately to Press Supervisor and NCM and generating Quality Alerts and distributing them to all the required locations.
  10. Responsible to ensure the line is running customer relevant, non NCM material, that is defect free and if not there needs to be appropriate escalation to the Quality Leadership team.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Class “A” surface experience

• Hi-light experience

• Stoning experience

• Able to “feel” for surface defects

• Metal finish experience

• Confidence to make decision on findings and support decision with evidence

• Understand thinning analysis reports

• Good written communication skills

• Good verbal communication skills

• Knowledge of stamping process

Additional Information

  • High School Diploma or GED required; with a minimum of 1 year as QA Auditor, and have proven track record in cosmetic, functional testing and dimensional inspections.
