Job Overview:

Civil/Environmental Engineer (PE)

Location: Sarasota / Lakewood Ranch / Tampa, FL

Salary: $100,000- $135,000

Reports to: President

Role Overview

This is a unique career advancement opportunity for a Civil or Environmental Engineer (PE) to grow in innovative engineering, pilot studies, design, asset management, and design‑build delivery. You will work directly with the President of a Florida‑based civil and environmental engineering firm to support key technical initiatives, client growth, and the development of cutting‑edge “OneWater” solutions.

The firm is recognized for delivering innovative, responsive, and high‑integrity engineering and business consulting services. Leadership is known for developing creative and effective approaches to water, wastewater, reclaimed water, and sustainable infrastructure challenges. The team takes pride in serving as a trusted partner to clients, supporting local communities, and delivering sustainable solutions that protect the environment.

This role is ideal for an engineer with 8–15 years of experience who is ready to advance into positions such as Technical Lead, Project Manager, or Client Services Manager. Senior professionals will provide mentorship across planning, pilot studies, modeling, engineering design, design‑build, asset management, digital technology, and engineering services during construction.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare or oversee engineering calculations, AutoCAD 3D designs, assessments, studies, master plans, models, construction drawings, specifications, permit applications, and technical reports · Serve as Project Manager or Technical Lead depending on project scale and complexity · Lead pilot studies, reporting, GIS/CADD/modeling efforts, CEI services, and stakeholder outreach · Support business development activities including proposals, presentations, schedules, budgets, and cost evaluations · Research innovative technologies, regulatory changes, and emerging engineering methods · Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution · Participate in task and project management, internal operations, and collaborative team initiatives · Travel occasionally within Southwest to West Central Florida for site visits, pilot studies, and client meetings

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering · At least six (6) years of engineering experience · Florida PE license or ability to obtain within 4 months · Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) · Strong communication skills and demonstrated project management experience · Ability to oversee and mentor support staff, including engineers and CADD designers

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with AutoCAD 3D, GIS, modeling/hydraulics, and database management · Master’s degree in water/wastewater, water resources, or site development · Prior project management experience or formal PM training
