The Opportunity
This position works out of our Casa Grande, AZ location in the Abbott Nutrition Division. Casa Grande, Ariz., is one of six Abbott nutrition manufacturing plants in the U.S., with about half of its products exported around the world. What You’ll Work On
Responsible for analytical testing on raw ingredients, in-process and finished product, and plant utilities. This also includes testing for release of product to manufacturing for further processing, filling, and finishing. This position will obtain and test samples for compliance to specifications outlined in the Lab Methods Manual. The chemist I will be responsible for sampling, testing, identifying and solving immediate problems with testing, and report results to a supervisor. This individual will recognize and report method procedure problems, and out-of-specification conditions, and is expected to perform all Chemist I functions including but not limited to proficiency testing, adherence to good laboratory practices, and continued analytical and good manufacturing practices training and compliance.
Please note: This is a night shift position from 5:30pm-6:00am and allows you to have every other weekend off. Hours and days are below AFTER you are fully trained. Training will be during day shift hours from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm for 4-12 months from your start date.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING:
High school diploma or GED required plus 1 year of appropriate college lab studies and 1 year of college mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry or calculus), plus 2 years of laboratory experience or 4 years experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
OR a Science related Associates Degree with at least 1 year of appropriate college lab studies and 1 year of college mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry or calculus), plus 1 year of related laboratory experience or 2 years experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
OR a Science related Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year of appropriate college lab studies and 1 year of college mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry or calculus).
