DESCRIPTION:

As a Chemical Process Engineer, you will support the development and documentation of lean manufacturing processes, manufacturing support and continuous improvement projects. You will work with existing processes and equipment to improve quality and productivity of the manufacturing teams in the Anodizing and Cleaning areas. You will work collaboratively with all functional groups (including the Manufacturing group, NPI Engineering group and the Equipment Engineering group) to provide solutions while effectively managing process, policy, and strategy changes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Accountable to ensure all processes are designed with the six sigma philosophy - DFSS
  • Initiates, recommend and provide solutions to technical problems
  • Initiates, recommends, and provides solutions for process optimization to improve reliability
  • Responsible for all Electrochemical Process Engineering with a focus on Anodizing
  • Responsible for all Ultrasonic Cleaning Process Engineering
  • Maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts for chemical compositions and performance metrics of anodizing tanks to ensure compliance with quality standards and optimize process efficiency.
  • Monitoring and testing processes and products found in all phases of production
  • Developing and implementing safety procedures for staff working with hazardous materials
  • Provides leadership for safety and the environment  
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Leads FMEA activities for Anodize and Cleanroom product development transfer to production

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • 2-5 years of Chemical engineering/process experience
  • Strongly desired semiconductor industry experience
  • Strongly desired semiconductor manufacturing/process knowledge
  • Electro-chemical processing knowledge (Anodizing a strong plus)
  • Ultrasonic Cleaning process knowledge. Familiarity with cleaning protocols and quality control standards is essential.
  • Required experience in managing Statistical Process Control (SPC) for chemical process in anodizing applications, including a strong understanding of chemical composition analysis and quality assurance practices.
  • Strongly desired computer and software knowledge, including MS Office (required) and SolidWorks (a plus)

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:

  • Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, use hands to finger, handle, or feel parts; reach with hands and arms; and talk and/or hear instructions.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to differentiate shades and color to identify defects.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:

  • Low noise levels in office environment.
  • Occasional moderate noise levels and working near moving mechanical parts.
