Job Description:
Production Operator II
Huntsman is seeking a Production Operator II supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in Rock Hill, SC. This position will report to the Production Manager.
Job Scope
Monitor, adjust, and record process conditions to maintain safe and quality operations as directed by site procedures and management. Ensure that daily operational tasks, such as filter changes, log sheet recording, material transfers, and packing out product, are completed in accordance with site SOPs. Support and engage in the site’s Zero Harm program in all tasks.
Shift: 2-2-3 schedule, 12-hour shift on nights once trained on day shift.
In summary, as the Production Operator II, you will:
- Report to the Shift Supervisor.
- Document operating and quality conditions of plant processes and notify appropriate personnel/respond when conditions are not met.
- Transfer material into and out of drums, totes, bags, tankers, or other types of containers using diaphragm, gear, and centrifugal pumps.
- Move and connect chemical hoses to pumps, reactors, tanks, tank wagons, and other equipment and containers.
- Maneuver drums and other containers to position on pallets for filling and storage.
- Consistently pack out and stack 55-lb. bags of product onto pallets.
- Be extremely safety-oriented and an active member of the site’s Zero Harm and SIM programs.
- Complete all Safety Training as required, including Confined Space, Hot Work, Line Break, and Lockout/Tagout.
- Wear all appropriate PPE as called out in procedures and JSAs, including but not limited to various chemical suits, rubber gloves, rubber boots, long-sleeved FR clothing, and full-face respirators.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Lead Operator, or Production Manager.
- Work regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, including rain, wind, excessive heat, and cold.
- Work a 12-hour shift on days or nights.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED. Additional educational experiences are a plus.
- Two years of experience working in a chemical manufacturing plant or similar environment.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to safely drive a forklift.
- Physical ability to climb and work from stairs, ladders, and platforms and to lift 55-lb. bags above the waist.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, stretch, handle process equipment, and move portable equipment such as pumps, filters, hoses, and pallets for long periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications
- Additional educational experiences beyond High School Diploma/GED.
- Prior involvement with materials regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
- Understanding of applicable safety rules and procedures associated with waste transfer using a forklift.
Working Environment
- This position will require involvement with materials regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
- A combination of training methods, e.g., computer-based training, classroom, and/or on-the-job training, will be provided prior to any such involvement.
