Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Chemical & Specialty Materials Operator to join a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment. This role involves working with chemical batches and specialty metal powders, ensuring high-quality standards, strict adherence to SOPs, and safe handling of materials throughout the production process.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, reliable, and comfortable working in a structured manufacturing setting where accuracy, cleanliness, and compliance are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture, process, and package chemical batches and specialty metal powders according to production orders and SOPs
- Perform post-processing tasks including washing, screening, drying, jet milling, and packaging of materials
- Operate and maintain equipment such as ovens, vacuum ovens, screeners, Buchner funnels, and related production tools
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and quality control standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
- Identify, document, and report equipment issues, material inconsistencies, or process deviations to supervision
- Follow detailed instructions while also identifying opportunities for process improvements
- Assist with inventory handling, material movement, and general production support tasks
- Complete basic documentation and maintain accurate production records
- Work collaboratively with team members while also being able to operate independently when needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in chemical manufacturing, production, or metal powders preferred
- Familiarity with SOP-driven environments and quality control processes
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, industrial or lab-style setting
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and communicate clearly with supervisors and team members
- Willingness to learn new processes and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Overtime availability when required
