Position Title:   Chemical Mixer                                 

Location: Willoughby, OH                                                                                  

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Responsible for mixing and preparing high-quality batches of paste using brazing and soldering alloys. Accurately measure, weigh, and combine ingredients while performing required tests (including viscosity and weight verifications) to ensure finished products consistently meet stringent quality specifications and customer requirements. Maintain precise production records, adhere to ISO 9001 standards, and contribute to a safe, clean, and efficient manufacturing environment.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Verify equipment cleanliness prior to batch production 
  • Gather and prepare ingredients (base, powders, etc.), utensils, and materials according to batch recipes 
  • Perform accurate mathematical calculations for tare weights, material conversions, and quantity adjustments based on customer specifications 
  • Weigh materials precisely and conduct second-party weight verifications 
  • Conduct viscosity tests at specified temperatures and document results accurately 
  • Prepare and stage batches for adjustment while preventing contamination (e.g., covering pots as needed) 
  • Utilize computer systems to retrieve batch information, issue materials to shop orders, and maintain production records 
  • Package finished products into drums or other containers as required 
  • Clean and maintain production equipment and work areas to high standards 
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality Policy, established procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials with authority to halt release if necessary 
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety in assigned work areas 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • Math skills, including measurements, conversions, and calculations 
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. manually or with material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) 
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions 
  • Attention to detail for maintaining accurate and legible records and paperwork 
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Windows OS, Microsoft Office for data entry and basic reporting) 
  • Ability to wear and use an air-purifying respirator as required (with successful fit testing and medical clearance per OSHA standards)
