JOB SUMMARY
As part of our recent growth, we are seeking a Chemical Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will maintain production baths and waste treatment system to ensure the compliance of all industrial and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor and maintain chemical production tanks, including replenishment, analysis, and adjustments to ensure proper chemical concentrations and tank conditions.
• Coordinate with production personnel to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruption to operations
• Order, receive, handle, inventory & store wet/dry chemicals for anodize process.
• Responsible for proper packaging, labeling, and manifesting hazardous waste for transport.
• Manage the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste materials generated during production processes.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for the transportation and disposal of hazardous waste materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot and repair chemical process equipment, including pumps, valves, and instrumentation, to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation.
• Perform daily calibration on laboratory equipment (TDS Meter, pH Meter), for daily chemical line checks.
• Stormwater, wastewater, and effluent water management. Including wastewater treatment and discharge.
• Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships.
• Deionized water system management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficient in MS Office and other computer skills.
• Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
• Environmental, Health and Safety experience is a plus
• Mechanical inclination.
• Comfortable working safely around hazardous waste and chemicals.
• A strong sense for attention to detail.
• Previous experience in hazardous waste management or related field.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for hazardous waste handling and disposal.
• Ability to work in an indoor and outdoor environment.
• Punctual, with a willingness to learn and ask questions.
• Ability to be forklift trained.
• Ability to wear a respirator.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to undergo additional training and certifications as required
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Ability to read, write, communicate and/or follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language, or adaptive technology.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in chemistry, environmental science, or related field preferred.

Salary Range: $24.00 - $34.00
