Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Chemical Blender
to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately weighing, mixing, and blending raw chemical materials into finished products while following established formulas, batch records, and quality standards. This hands-on manufacturing position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to workplace safety, and experience handling chemicals in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret batch sheets, formulas, work orders, and production instructions.
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix raw materials according to specifications.
- Operate blending, mixing, and agitation equipment while monitoring speed, temperature, and processing times.
- Transport raw materials and finished products using forklifts, pallet jacks, and drum-handling equipment.
- Record production data including weights, lot numbers, and batch information accurately.
- Fill, package, and label finished products.
- Clean mixing tanks, vessels, and production equipment between batches to prevent cross-contamination.
- Inspect products throughout the blending process and report any quality concerns.
- Identify equipment issues and notify supervisors promptly.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- More than 3 years of experience
as a Chemical Blender, Mixer, Compounder, or in a similar chemical or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret batch sheets, formulas, and written work instructions.
- Strong math skills, including basic calculations, ratios, and unit conversions.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification after hire.
- Experience safely handling hazardous chemicals in accordance with OSHA and HAZMAT requirements.
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in chemical, coatings, adhesives, lubricants, specialty chemical, or industrial manufacturing.
- HAZWOPER, DOT Hazardous Materials, or RCRA training.
- Experience with automated batching systems or bulk liquid transfer equipment.
- Familiarity with quality testing such as pH, viscosity, specific gravity, and lot traceability.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and move materials up to
50 pounds
regularly.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb throughout the shift.
- Safely move drums and totes using forklifts, pallet jacks, and drum-handling equipment.
- Work around chemicals, fumes, odors, varying temperatures, and manufacturing equipment.
- Wear required PPE, including respirators, gloves, goggles, face shields, and protective clothing.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production needs.
