Chapter Next is a 12-16 week paid returnship in which participants will join a community of experienced professionals that contribute to engaging work scopes that contribute to the great innovation produced by Lockheed Martin.

Participants will take part in comprehensive training, professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and they are paired with a mentor during their returnship. Our goal is to provide participants with the fundamental resources needed to be effective in their next career chapter and to potentially prepare participants for an opportunity to join Lockheed Martin full-time.

Schedule: During the 12-16 returnship, participants are aligned to flexible part-time schedules. *This could change in the future if business needs dictate.

This returnship position is Sr. Systems Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). This opportunity is available to be conducted virtually.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Systems Engineering principles and model-based systems engineering tools. The candidate will be working with the team on Future Vertical Lift programs to help build the digital thread at Sikorsky Aircraft.

Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager for Future Vertical Lift Programs, the selected individual will contribute to the Systems Engineering organization in the following ways:

• responsible for working with engineering leads on Model-based Systems Engineering projects
• Create system models using the CAMEO tool to model requirements and process
• work with stakeholders to understand current requirements and processes, defining data interfaces and exchanges between different programs

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years professional work experience in an aerospace engineering (or similar) environment
• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following related fields: Systems Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
• Demonstrated knowledge in Systems Engineering principles, process, requirements development, requirements management, and process improvement.
• Good communication skills at all levels; ability to present technical data in status reviews.
• familiarity with developing and/or executing technical plans
• Direct experience modeling Systems Engineering Requirements utilizing MBSE tools such as CAMEO
• Strong business acumen including effective oral, written and presentation skills

Working knowledge and experience with the following tools:
- Cameo

Ability to work in an agile work environment with changing priorities.

Ability to work remotely

Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Rate:
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $97,500 - $162,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
