CWI: Structural Department

Position Summary

We are seeking an experiencedCertified Welding Inspector (CWI)to oversee the quality of structural steel products throughout the manufacturing process. This position will focus heavily on visual inspection of finished product, structural MIG welding quality, and NDT inspection.

Key Responsibilities

• Performvisual welding inspections on approximately 60% of productprior to shipment.
• Inspectstructural MIG welds, with a strong emphasis onComplete Joint Penetration (CJP)welds.
• Perform and documentUT (Ultrasonic Testing)andMagnetic Particle (MT) inspectionson seismic and load-bearing products.
• Review and interpretengineering blueprints, fabrication drawings, and shop drawings.
• Verify welds meet applicable specifications, drawings, WPS requirements, and quality standards.
• Identify weld defects and work directly with welders, supervisors, and production personnel to correct quality issues.
• Ensure proper welding procedures and inspection requirements are being followed.
• Support production by providing guidance on welding quality and inspection requirements.

Qualifications

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)required.
• Strong experience inspectingstructural steel welding.
• Experience withstructural MIG/GMAW welding.
• Ability to accurately read and interpretblueprints, weld symbols, engineering drawings, and shop drawings.
