Overview
We are currently seeking a Certified MIG Welder to join our Weekend team at our facility in Portland, OR, 97210. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG structural welding and Aluminum TIG welding, as well as operating band saws, and using measurement devices to ensure accuracy. Additionally, knowledge of blueprint reading, deburring, shop math skills, and welding setups for production is required.
Shift
This is a Weekend shift: Friday - Sunday, 6am - 6:30pm (3 x 12 hour shifts)
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding with an emphasis on structural welds.
- Some TIG welding of aluminum structures.
- Manipulation of large steel structures and materials.
- Follow QA process in support of company standards
- Use of measurement devices to ensure accuracy.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Deburring of materials in support of production.
- Follow shop Safety requirements.
- Utilize shop math skills for accurate measurements.
- Set up welding equipment for production runs.
- Assisting metal shop employees with production of parts and assemblies.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Other duties as assigned by managment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a MIG Welder is required (AWS D1.1)
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques required
- Proficiency in TIG welding techniques a plus
- Experience working with Aluminum and Steel
- Knowledge of Robotic welding a plus but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong shop math skills
