Buyer – Manufacturing
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods, materials, components, and services necessary to support daily operations.
The ideal candidate will have previous purchasing/procurement experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment, and will be comfortable working directly with suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, managing purchase orders, monitoring costs, and ensuring materials are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities
- Purchase goods, materials, components, and services while meeting established cost, quality, and delivery requirements
- Source and evaluate suppliers and assist with identifying new vendors
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and purchasing schedules
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance, pricing, quality, and delivery
- Identify potential supply-chain risks that could impact production or business operations
- Communicate material shortages, delays, or supplier issues to appropriate departments
- Resolve supplier issues involving pricing, quality, delivery, and invoices
- Review purchasing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement
- Monitor market trends and supplier conditions
- Work closely with Quality and other departments to evaluate supplier performance
- Prepare purchasing reports and operational updates as needed
- Assist Customer Service with order entry and customer purchase orders when necessary
- Update information within the ERP system
- Assist with EDI transfers involving customer invoices
- Provide support with month-end activities as needed
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies
Qualifications
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or buying
- Manufacturing purchasing experience strongly preferred
- Business, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, or related education preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, and cost analysis
- Experience negotiating pricing, contracts, and supplier terms
- Ability to build and maintain productive supplier relationships
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with an ERP system is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
