Job Summary

CDL Yard Driver is responsible for the positioning of trailers at the shipping docks and shuttling loaded trailers to a desginated location.

Essential Functions

1. Provides support for trailer movements from manufacturing facility to adjacent warehouses, assists with preparation of trailers for shipping, and monitors the status of loaded trailers.
2. Inspect yard tractor for damage or broken equipment.
3. Report trailer damage or broken equipment.
4. Accurately complete work reports and equipment damage reports as required.
5. Drive and maneuver tractors into positon to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
6. Additional duties and/or special projects may be assigned at supervisor's discretion.
7. Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times.

Education and Experience

• Have a minimum of 1 year tractor trailer driving experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment
• Hight School/GED
• Have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Must be self motivated and able to follow directions correctly
• Ability to safely and accurately work under tight time constraints
