Job Summary
Serve as Truck Driver within the Operations group. Primary responsibility during everyday operations includes the delivery and pick-up of equipment, out of state long hauls, customer locations, GOM docks, etc. Secondary duties will include assisting in the shop with general labor or on job site assisting with the field operations. Is operationally qualified and licensed to drive Class A Combination CDL tractor/trailer rig. Required to hold air brakes, hazmat, and tankers endorsements. Truck Driver reports directly to Shop Manager and provided instructions from the operations group.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver and pick up equipment from customers docks, and job locations.
- Maintain proper paperwork (Delivery Ticket, Bill of Ladings, etc.) and turn in to office upon departure or return, insure all equipment on the paperwork matches the equipment loaded on the truck/trailer.
- Ensure all loads have completed paperwork upon departure and return.
- Look over and check equipment for damages, low fuel, missing pieces, etc. during pick-up or return of equipment.
- Safely communicate any long delays obtained during current trip.
- Ensure all equipment and loads are properly strapped for travel at all times.
- Ensure all equipment available and for transporting are loaded. Confirm with Customer and Bluefin office for instructions if unsure, loading as much equipment as legally possible.
- All delivery and pick up request must be communicated with the Shop Manager for approval prior to departure.
- Truck Driver is responsible for un-loading his equipment when returning back to Bluefin shop.
- Perform pre/post trip inspections.
- Use ELD or paper logs as required.
- Follow all rules and regulations of the highway.
- Follow all customer rules and polices while on customer locations.
- Call the office or Shop Manager prior to leaving a customer location, dock, etc. before returning to Bluefin shop or to another location.
- Ensure trucks/trailers are kept clean and in proper working condition.
- Wash trucks and trailers as needed or instructed by Shop Manager.
- If there are no deliveries to make, take direction from Shop Manager working in the shop. Will assist Equipment Technicians and Operation Coordinators wash and paint equipment, clean up, etc.
- May include work after hours, on weekends and on holidays.
- Available for 24-hour call rotation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
- Education - High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience- Minimal 2 Years with Class A experience
Physical Requirements
- Truck/Highway Setting; Field and shop setting as needed
- Travel up to 100% through United States; staying overnight at times
- Fit for duty exam required
