Job Overview:

The CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial motor vehicles to transport materials, equipment, or products while complying with all federal, state, local, and company regulations. The driver is expected to provide excellent customer service, complete accurate documentation, and maintain the assigned vehicle in a safe operating condition.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the safe operation of all mobile equipment in and around Propell, including public roadways.
  2. Drive in a defensive manner, be aware of surroundings and look ahead, leave a safe distance between vehicles, be a professional and courteous driver.
  3. Keep the vehicle under control at all times and reduce speed due to changes in road, weather, and traffic conditions.
  4. Prepared to avoid collision-producing situations by practicing and promoting safe driving skills.
  5. Promote careful and safe driving here at Propell.
  6. Examine all equipment prior to or during a post-trip inspection.
  7. Complete a safety pre-trip inspection on all vehicles as per Propell policies and procedures.
  8. Report all significant events on the road, including violations and near misses.
  9. Safely shunt trailers from the yard to bay doors and vice versa as instructed by management.
  10. Ensure safe movement of trailers throughout the yard, test facilities, and satellite areas of Propell.
  11. Always ensure the safe operation of equipment to ensure the product adheres to the highest standards.
  12. Support any mission, vision, budgets, goals & objectives here at Propell.
  13. When on duty and not conducting one of your regular primary responsibilities, you are expected to perform secondary duties as instructed by management.
  14. Help provide a working environment that is safe, clean, and healthy.
  15. Demonstrate good teamwork


Education & Experience

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Must have at Least 2 Years' driving experience with a CDL license

Specific Skills

  • Establish work priorities to ensure deadlines are met
  • The ability to operate single-axle trucks in a safe and responsible manner
  • The ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • To have good client service and public interaction skills.
  • To ensure the recording of road tests and maintenance of daily records.
  • Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate. 
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company insurance requirements. 
  • Ability to operate manual 10 speed transmission. 
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and DOT-required testing.
