Job Overview:
Position Summary
The position involves operating a tractor-trailer combination to haul various construction materials including asphalt, road base, and millings in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations to transport construction materials.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and comply with all DOT regulations.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Requirements:
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license with air-brake endorsement.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience driving with a Class A CDL.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Proficient in operating a standard/manual transmission.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and safety conscious.
Qualified applicants should possess the following (requirements):
- CDL Driver’s License, Class A with air-brake endorsement.
- Class A CDL hauling of aggregates and asphalt materials. Experience with oversize/overweight loads preferred.
- Must be a self-motivated team player with ability to work safely alone and with co-workers.
- Must be able to operate a standard transmission.
- Must have clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Work is outside in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug/alcohol testing.
- Must be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic and be able to work with minimal supervision and at high level of accountability to operational requirements.
- Strong communication skills, both one on one and in group settings within and outside of the organization
- Must be willing to travel long distances and work flexible night and weekend hours when required. Willing to work various hours including overtime.
