CDL A Truck Driver Job Description

Overview

We are currently seeking a CDL A Truck Driver to join our team at our facility located in Altoona, PA, 16601. The ideal candidate will have a current CDL license, DOT medical card, and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials over long distances
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents, or violations

Qualifications

• Current CDL license
• DOT medical card
• Customer service skills
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Dependable and reliable
• Attention to detail
